Here comes what everybody is calling the ”MW2 Killer.”
Yes, it seems everybody wants to take the title away from Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as the best first person shooter ever to come in the history of video games.
The success of Modern Warfare 2 was so titanic that every single first person shooter that will come after MW2 will forever be unfairly compared to Infinity Ward’s cash cow. EA Dice’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 isn’t any different and in case you were wondering, no, it’s not the ”MW2 Killer” everybody was counting on.
Don’t get me wrong though, Bad Company 2 is a solid game, no doubt about that. It improves on everything the original established. However, it obviously tries to milk from some elements Modern Warfare 2 excels at. Some can even say that Bad Company 2 is a Modern Warfare 2 clone, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Gone are the sandbox elements that made the original stand out from the rest as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 goes for the more straightforward approach, ala Modern Warfare. Thankfully, the destructible elements are still there which made the first game such a blast to play. And thanks to the graphical achievements Battlefield: Bad Company 2 boasts, blasting everything to smithereens has never been this fun.
Online play is a different story. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has a very addicting multiplayer, the same can’t be said of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Online play is plagued with technical issues like not letting players sign in to the EA servers or worse, game crashes that takes the player all the way back to the Xbox 360 dashboard.
Hopefully, EA Dice will be able to fix these technical issues because Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is too good of a game to give up on.
