Monster Hunter Tri

Now this is a game on the Nintendo Wii that even owners of the higher end consoles like the Xbox 360 and the PS3 would be envious of.

In case you are new to the Monster Hunter franchise, the games’ premise is basically hunting down monsters, as the title suggests. In Monster Hunter Tri, Capcom took the tried and tested formula of the successful Monster Hunter games of the past to a whole different level.

Capcom has improved on basically everything, plus more. The game even has this seamless system that lets you continue to hunt on the certain monster you’re trying to pursue wherever. In one instance, we saw a monster dive into the sea to get away from its predator and when the player decided to follow suit, we were taken underwater without any loading screens whatsoever.

The story lets the players assume the role of a new hunter who’s job is to train, upgrade and eventually wipe out this new menace deep from the sea called Lagiarcus. However, it’s not as easy as it sounds. You need to go through a range of introductory missions first, killing simple enemies and looting basic resources to prepare you to go after the more challenging monsters in the game.

Monster Hunter Tri is a feat in itself, pushing the Nintendo Wii to its limits. This is one of those rare occasions that lets Nintendo Wii owners feel happy.
