It’s time once again to take the hardwood of the NBA 2K series as the best selling basketball video game franchise returns for its latest installment, NBA 2K10.
Like its predecessors, NBA 2K10 pushes the envelope graphically with realistic looking player models all recreating how their real-life counterparts behave on the court.
Heck, you’ll even see LeBron James throw some powder in the air before tipoff. The realism in this game is unbelievable that you can mistake it for a live NBA game on TV. However, it may be the best looking basketball game in the market today but it’s still far from perfect.
2K Sports took the liberty of improving some of the player models from what they have last year and while some did show some improvement, other player models turned out to look worse. I personally liked Paul Pierce’s player model last year than what NBA 2K10 has now and don’t get me started on Kobe Bryant’s new ghoulish gameface.
All in all, NBA 2K10 is still the king of basketball simulation. But is it better than last year’s? Other than the roster changes, it’s pretty much the same game.
